Pascal Dupuis
Forward, Pittsburgh Penguins, #9
Pascal Dupuis was born in Laval, Québec, on April 7th, 1979. While in the QMJHL, Dupuis played with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies for four years and was never drafted by an NHL club. In August 2010 he signed with the Minnesota Wild. In his second season in the NHL Dupuis had 48 points and a plus-minus rating of +17. During the 2006-2007 season Dupuis was traded to the New York Rangers but only to be traded again 3 weeks later to the Atlanta Thrashers. A year later he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins and became a key element to the team’s success, helping them make it to the Stanley Cup Finals. He won the Stanley Cup with the Penguins in 2009. Pascal Dupuis seems to be like fine wine and only gets better with age. In 2011-12, as a 32 year old he set personal season highs in goals (25), assists (34) and points (59). In the summer of 2013, at age 34, Dupuisre-signed with the Penguins, this time for 4 more years, thus keeping him with Pittsburgh through the 2016-2017 season. In 2013 not only did Pascal Dupuis get 48 points in 48 games but he won the NHL Plus-Minus Award with an impressive rating of +31. Pascal is a fast, tenacious and gritty forward that has the irreplaceable knack to force turnovers and terrorize the opposition. He is nothing short of essential to the Penguins Penalty Kill. Good things happen when Dupuis is on the ice, and they happen because he works.
